Why Purus Lumina exists
Patients can be given a prescribed medicine and a device without being given a clear, consistent standard for looking after that device. That gap affects confidence, routine, and the experience of treatment.
Purus Lumina was founded by a UK patient inside that pathway. We built the education, protocols, and products we needed because the infrastructure was not there. The aim is simple: make good device care understandable and achievable.
Patient first
We start with the lived reality of patients. That means taking routine, consistency, safety, cost, access, and dignity seriously. It also means being honest about what is known, what is not known, and what should be discussed with a clinician or pharmacist.
Patients should not have to reverse-engineer their own standard of care.
Better information creates better routines. Better routines support more confident care.
Evidence before assumption
Our protocols and product specifications are developed from available evidence, manufacturer instructions, technical information, and practical patient needs. We do not present convention as proof.
Where published research, regulatory guidance, or a recognised clinical standard is absent, we say so. A gap in the evidence is not permission to invent certainty. It is something to document, explain, and keep under review.
That principle underpins the Purus Lumina Device Care Curriculum and the Insights Library: education that is useful in practice, careful in its claims, and open about its limits.
